Team SBPP flies off to New Zealand

Team SBPP have won the trip to New Zealand in August following their victory in the 2023 UPNG Student Representative Council Debate Competition. The UPNG SRC Debate commenced early in semester 2 of 2023 to promote Debate, public speaking, research skills and other skillful attributes that students from the University need. UPNG Wins 2023 Intervarsity Debate Title

UPNG Debate Team wins the Intervasity Debate title in Madang Divine Word University, host of the 2023 Intervarsity Debate Competition congratulates the University of Papua New Guinea’s (UPNG) Debate Team on being winners of the 2023 Intervarsity Debate Competition. University of Technology (UniTech) finished in second place, and in third place, was the host Debate team, Divine Word University. Six universities took part in the three-day event. Developing a safe, innovative and sustainable life towards 2050, in Papua New Guinea’ was the theme for this year’s 2023 Intervarsity Debate Competition from 21st to the 23rd of September, 2023. Governor Wenge Sponsors SRC Debate Competition

TWO cheques worth K300,000 from Morobe Governor Luther Wenge was presented to the University of Papua New Guinea in support of the SRC debate and Law School moot court competition. Governor Wenge officiated at the launching of the UPNG Student Representative Council Debate Competition on Tuesday at the UPNG main Campus. One cheque worth K200, 000 was given to support the debate competition and the other worth K100,000 was presented to support the University’s Law School moot court competition. The donation is part of Mr Wenge’s commitment to invest in the future of Papua New Guineans by empowering students through extra-curricular activities.
