Team SBPP claims the 2023 SRC Debate Competition Title

The School of Business and Public Policy (SBPP) at the University of Papua New Guinea (UPNG) has emerged victorious in a fierce battle of intellect, securing the title for the 2023 UPNG SRC Debate Competition.

The journey to the top was no easy one for Team SBPP, as they faced rivalry from the other 4 schools throughout the competition. 

Their success came in the form of the Grand Final, where they squared off against Team School of Natural and Physical Sciences (SNPS).

Both teams exhibited remarkable performance and a deep understanding of the topics at hand, captivating the audience with their arguments and counterarguments.

After an intellectually constructed exchange of arguments, the verdict was clear. when team SBPP emerged as the 2023 UPNG SRC Debate Champions. 

They secured a score of 556.5 points, while their opponents, Team SNPS, managed 538.5 points. This margin of 18 points marked the victory for SBPP.

The SBPP team's victory not only solidifies their position as the University's debate champions but also highlights their dedication, hard work, and exceptional skills in debate. 

The UPNG SRC Debate Competition is a platform for students to engage in intellectual discourse, refine their persuasive skills, and showcase their knowledge on various subjects. 

Team SBPP's victory serves as an inspiration for aspiring debaters and reflects the excellence and determination that are the hallmarks of the School of Business and Public Policy.

The School of Business and Public Policy contributed great support that led to the victory of their debate team, in order to foster the journey of intellectual growth and academic excellence in the UPNG campus.
